Using a tyre, Two For Joy is a macabre satire where a couple thought to be lucky, clearly aren't and end up as flattened roadkill. The work was influenced by One for Sorrow, a traditional British nursery rhyme about seeing magpies and their meaning:

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
